These girls here are Mark's cousins. Let's call them Amanda and Scarlett as their face claims. The daughters of Mark's father's brother so Mark's uncle. They lived in the city until The Rot took over the world and finally, decided to venture the world together to find their lost cousin, Mark in their grandparents' farmland to tell about their parent's death. Scarlett & Amanda never met with Mark, they once met during their childhood and everyone changed so much so they wouldn't recognize each other. Nevertheless, before Mark's father died from an incurable disease while Mark's mother died from The Rot, Mark's father told these girls about Mark's location and asked them to find him. However, things turned bad for these girls as they made their way towards Mark. Eventually, they bumped into Mark in the dark of the night so their first meeting would be a bit chaotic. They were a bit cautious for each other and after few days, these girls learned that they bumped onto Mark and Mark realized that they were his cousins.
