Perhaps she wasn't in the city. Perhaps, she'd taken a liking to one of the other communities. Perhaps, she was settled in with a nice boy with a nice family and was living a nice life without him? Oliver wanted to smash his head into something to keep his thoughts at bay. Nyx was the all mighty believer in love and hope and faith and everything that Ollie lacked. Sure, by looking at him no one suspected a shred of cynicism or disbelief. The only faith he held was that Nyx was alive somewhere and that he was just missing her at every turn. Faith in his sister was all he'd ever had to live with, even when his parents were alive. Not because he didn't have faith in his parents, but rather, he trusted that Nyx would be there forever. She was his twin, if she went, he went.
Straying once more from the only family Ollie had left, he wondered if anyone besides Adrian ever noticed he was gone? He supposed one of these days, in the near future, he would have to tell Adrian where he went every day for hours at a time. Sometimes he allowed Adrian to come along, others, he felt as if it was best for him to go alone. Days like this, he was happy to be alone. The more depressive, cynical side was out and he couldn't find any explanation for Adrian when he was in this mood other than the truth which he was hiding from. Oliver often wondered why he felt as though he couldn't tell Adrian things, but then it was simple. Nyx was the only thing keeping him alive, if Ollie found out she was dead, he would die too and it would just be easier for Adrian to believe Oliver had disappeared rather than committed a form of suicide.
Ollie was slinking through the farmlands, an area he wasn't as familiar with, but that he'd come to like. It was peaceful out in the country. Not as harsh as the desert, not as trashed as the City. It was actually kind of beautiful. A good place for him to clear his head and regain some semblance of himself. A few children went darting past him in the market and he gave a laugh at how they seemed not to notice how harsh the world was. To be ignorant like that again...he almost missed it. Coming up on one of the stalls, Ollie accidentally bumped into someone. A body. A not super tall and muscular body.
A female body. His eyes widened and he held up his hands apologetically, "I'm so sorry. I totally didn't even mean to do that. My momentum just went whoosh and kinda pushed me over. Bubble invasion totally not intentional!" He babbled unintelligibly.
