Was climbing up this old radio tower the smartest idea she'd ever had? No. Actually, it was probably one of the dumbest, but she didn't care. If it fell over, it fell over. She loved being up this high, and the adrenaline rush from it all was intoxicating. She should really do stupid things more often. She felt happier right now than she had in a while. Selina could see so far, and the smile on her face was genuine for what felt like the first time in ages.
It wasn't a performance for someone else, it wasn't a way to hide the anger and frustration, and it wasn't there to hide the deeper sadness at the root of it all. No, she felt content and at peace and she was going to revel in every second of it. She could see so far out over the rubble of a city that she called home. It was so fascinating... and her mother was somewhere in the middle of it. Selina's smile faded as her thoughts turned inward.
She knew well that Katerina could take care of herself, but Selina still wanted to find her. She'd merely hinted at her mother being dead, if not outright claiming that she'd passed, since Katerina had left four years ago. It made things simple and prevented people from asking stupid questions. Selina sighed as she was pulled form her thoughts when she saw someone approaching.
A younger kid from the look of it, though she couldn't tell much from the near top of the tower. She carefully made her way down and paused, still a few meters up, as he came into better view, "You looking for something?" she asked. Not many made their way out here anymore.
