Shielding his eyes from the sun, Riley looked up at the watch towers. They had these in every 'main' part of the Scorch, as far as he'd noticed. He supposed it was a good move, although it was only efficient when looking for dangers at a distance and not right below your nose... Not that he cared. He had no disputes with the city. In fact, Riley had few disputes with anyone. He simply went through life doing his own thing and caring for himself and his own.
He looked out over the bustling crowd and licked his bottom lip. He didn't particularly enjoy being around other people - especially not larger crowds of them, but he had business in the city. He was here to map out the area and scout. Which basically meant walking around and memorizing locations and seeing where people wandered at what time of the day.
He scowled slightly at the overly loud crowd and sighed. They were idiots. Didn't they know that the Doomed was attracted to crowds if delusional enough - whether it was daytime or not hardly mattered. Walking over towards a broken down building, Riley leaned into the open doorway and peaked inside: it smelled horrible. Like something was rotting inside. Didn't people clean this place up properly?
Selina had a day off and she was walking through the city, relaxing and enjoying her time away from the job. She loved being a bodyguard and she liked her boss a hell of a lot more than she had her previous employers, but it was nice to just relax every once in a while too. She slowly made her way through the crowds, keeping a sharp eye out for anyone who seemed infected or suspicious. She may not have been on duty, but she wasn't going to suddenly turn oblivious to her surroundings either.
Selina had fended off a pickpocket already, not that pickpockets were her main concern, or even really on her radar at this point. She made her way to the edge of the crowd, eager to get out of the thick of things. As much as she liked people, she couldn't really take being surrounded by them for too long of a time... she got way too paranoid.
Selina rested against the wall of an abandoned building, staring blankly out at the people who were probably drawing unwanted attention. She then noticed the guy standing in the doorway of the place she'd picked out and peering inside. He didn't look like a scavenger either... how interesting. "You a relative of the corpse?" she asked with a twisted smirk. It certainly smelled like there could be one inside, and she wouldn't be surprised.

Leaning his chin towards the girl, Riley kept his eyes fixed on the door as he shrugged. "No," he said. He held his hand right about his belt, his blue eyes scanning the room inside for any kind of movement. Once he realized there likely wasn't anything alive inside, he stepped away and turned to fully look at the girl who had talked to him.
He didn't owe her anything and therefore felt little need to explain what he was doing. He also doubted that she really care. She'd probably asked out of boredom more than anything.
Crossing his arms over his chest, he studied the girl from top to toe. She was hardly the kind of girl you expected to find. No, something about her stance and the way she carried herself with confidence and the calm air surrounding her told him she was a force to be reckoned with. He could appreciate that - admire it in fact. Not that it mattered at the end of the day. He'd likely not even remember what she looked like after this. "Can I help you?"
Selina calmly watched his every move, ready for anything. She got the feeling that he was well acquainted with violence, and such a man surveying the land and homes around Axios' watchtower definitely piqued her interest. He wasn't any mere scavenger, and she wondered who he worked for. "I'm sure you could," she replied with a knowing smirk as she slowly let her eyes rake over his, admittedly impressive, body.
Who said collecting information had to be boring? She had a feeling he was no common city dweller and she was going to find out what she could. She'd have to be smart about this though, as she didn't think he'd give up anything without a struggle... or at least not anything important. If he was merely a hired hand from a company in the city, that was one thing, but if he ended up being Bast or Furrina... she could be getting in over her head.
Selina could handle herself, but caution was always the smart move. She thought about merely walking away, but she'd always enjoyed playing with fire. Besides, if this was an enemy, her boss would likely be interested in finding out about his being here. The Furrina were her main concern as she actually gave a damn about a few people in this city... not that she'd ever admit it. As far as everyone else was concerned, she had no emotional ties to anyone, not even to her "dead" mother.
