This was it. It had to be it....This was it right? Of course it was, ever since coming to town, Jack has been locked in his little shed for weeks barely leaving it, only to eat or drink or answer natures call, he just spent each and every day in that little cubby hole of his with the door's closed behind him, if you were to place your ear against the door you would hear a great multitude of things; The sound of a hammer crashing over over and over against against a flat surface the occasional swear word and what sounds like the crackling of electrical fire from time to time.

...But eventually Jack emerged from his den wearing what seemed to be tilted lens spectacles, stumbling out of his "workshop" excitably to the local bar where he knew the one person he could trust to help him out with this little experiment. His eyes scanned the room until they locked onto the person he wanted, not caring how odd he looked (Which was very) and gestured to his cheek "I want you to punch me in the face harder then you've ever punched anyone before"

He didn't even have to speak up for her to see him. The moment he stepped through the doors, Luxanna pretty much sensed his presence. And immediately, she turned to face him with a giant, sheepish grin on her face that only turned more humorous when she saw what he was wearing. Chuckling to herself, the brunette walked forward and threw her arms around his neck - given that she was much shorter than he was, that was quite the feat. So she ended up sort of hanging from his shoulders while standing on the tips of her toes.

"I would never punch you, Jack," she said as she wrinkled her nose. "In fact, I would never punch anyone." She didn't think she had the guts - and she'd probably feel awfully guilty. "You look... Funny," she said as she lowered her hands and took a step back. She gave him an approving once over and nodded. "I like it. It suits you." Despite being slightly older than him, she always felt so much younger next to him. Not because he was more mature, because he really, really wasn't, but because she was so much shorter than him. And she also had sort of a baby-like face.

Why was Jack harassing this poor woman with his nonsense above any other? Well, Jack had known Lux maybe longer then anyone else and well, Jack felt a need with her more then anyone to show her what his mind had come up with next, like a child showing a parental figure a crudly drawn picture staring up at her practically begging for approval, and that was the effect Lux seemed to have on Jack. Ever since he first met her, that smile just drew him to her like a magnet, he wasn't even sure why, but seeing her smile like that....

...It felt good...

She had an amazing effect of him, like now for instant he had come in here with razor shape focus (Well, for him. Anyway) To test out his later invention but the moment he felt Lux's arms around his neck his body language began to softly as he let Lux hug her to her heart content, feeling his stomach doing somersaults as it had a habit of doing around the waitress a gentle smile reaching his lips

What was he doing here again? OH! RIGHT!

"Yes, you like them?! Good, because everyone around here is going to be wearing them in a week or so. I call them my PNGS- Pain neutralizer glasses...and stuff..ok I literally just thought of that right there. Wanted to seem impressive....I'll work on it. They were originally my X-Ray specs but I just decided to crame it full with a lot of science doohickies and razzmatazz and now there's a tiny chip in the lenses that that sends out a pulse that goes into the brain and nubs the part of the brain that deals with pain

Jack said all this with ferocious nodding of the head as if everything he was saying was nothing but the Gospel truth and there was no doubt that this would work exactly as he described it. "Pretty cool right? But I need to test them out so...." Jack leaned forward again gently patting his cheek "Right here, lay one right here. Hard as you can. Don't worry I won't even feel it. Just need to confirm they work....which they 100% Totally do"

Raising her eyebrows curiously, Luxanna rubbed the back of her neck and nodded. "I see," she said, smiling. Okay, so she didn't really believe Jack's invention worked the way he hoped they would - they rarely did, but she was hardly the kind of person who would kill anyone's dream, even if it was a little out there. "It's an amazing idea, Jack. Who knew you had such a soft heart?" she teased. Oh, she knew perfectly how delusional and crazy her friend could be, but that was why she loved him. He was one of the few people who had enough guts to chase those kind of dreams. Luxanna surely didn't.

Then... Then Jack asked her to hit him and Luxanna crossed her arms over her chest. "I'm not going to punch you, Jack," she replied and shook her head. There was no way. She wasn't even capable of killing insects, let alone hurting another human being. She'd feel terrible for years. She'd never let herself get off that kind of pain.

Especially since she didn't actually think they worked...

Pulling out a bar stool, Lux took a seat and defiantly crossed her arms over her chest again and pushed her chin forward.

Ok, Ok. Jack would be the first to admit it, maybe in the past. there had been one or two small hiccups with his inventions up to this point….ok maybe more then one or two….a lot more…..in fact every single invention he tried to make had more than a few hiccups to them…...Ok. He’ll just say it. a lot of things caught on fire. Like, almost everything. If a month went by and he kept his eyebrows . That was a good month and it wasn’t just invention. He made breakfast and poof, let there be fire. How is that even possible?!

But this time. THIS time he was on to a inner. This time it was going to work, he could feel it. He could feel it deep within him throbbing and pulsing deeply within him. The sun would rise. When he breathed air will go into his lungs and this invention will work. these were the things that Jack had total unyielding faith in his work

Damn it all, Jack thought to himself rolling his eyes, he was down right excited to prove that this could work and he couldn’t just wait around for Lux to have her moral crisis “Oh cooooome onnnnn Lux, you’re the only one I can go to for this I’m not asking you to bite me, just a light slap and were done. It won’t even hurt me anyway come on come on! as a favor not just to me” Jack said grasping her shoulders gently looking up at her with large watery brown eyes “But for science”
